SEO menjadi jantung para blogger. Bagaimana tidak, tanpa seo yang bagus maka blog Anda akan sepi pengunjung bahkan tidak ada sama sekali. Setiap Search Engine mempunyai algoritma masing – masing untuk menentukan urutan ranking website. Ada banyak pertimbangan, tetapi beberapa poin di bawah ini menjadi tolak ukur search engine untuk menentukan ranking, yaitu :
1. Nama Domain Anda, sebaiknya gunakan keyword yang banyak dicari orang dan masih bersangkutan dengan isi konten blog Anda. Jangan sekali – kali membuat domain yang isinya berbeda jauh dengan namanya.
2. Format Alamat File, menurut para blogger alamat file dengan format www.domainanda.com/fileanda.html lebih disukai search engine daripada berupa kode angka atau diselipi tanggal.
3. Keyword pada Nama File, seperti halnya poin nomer satu. Ingat jangan sekali – kali Anda membuat judul yang berbeda isinya.
4. Keyword pada title, tag <title> sangat berpengaruh besar pada seo. Sebaiknya ditulis manual walaupun sudah dirancang otomatis (seperti blogger.com).
5. Penentuan Headline. Yaitu pada tag di dalam <h1><h2><h3>…dst, tag headline tersebut sangat baik dipakai dalam website karena juga diperhitungkan oleh search engine.
6. Gunakan Meta Tag, adalah tag-tag HTML khusus yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan keseluruhan dari isi web Anda.
7. Keyword pada meta tag, gunakan keyword meta tag yang relevan dengan isi web Anda. Jangan gunakan keyword yang sama lebih dari tiga kali, bila menggunakan lebih dari tiga kali maka Anda akan dianggap melakukan spamming oleh search engine. Melakukan spamming sangat dibenci oleh search engine.
8. Keyword pada Page Content, keyword yang diharapkan sesuai dengan isi web site. Gunakan frase atau kata – kata yang mirip dengan keyword utama.
9. Link Popularity, adalah jumlah halaman web yang memasang link ke web site Anda.
Gunakan poin – poin diatas agar Anda mendapat ranking yang bagus di Search engine.
